I’m a few days late at writing this post, but I wanted to comment on the exemplary new site from Unborn Media, Inc. The same people that built and run one of my favorite sites PureVolume.com.

I wasn’t as lucky as many of my colleagues to get a beta login to Virb but I was signed up and exploring the moment it launched publicly.

My initial opinion of it was that it was a clean, compliant social community site. Yet as I explore further, it is much more than that. It’s geared toward socialization as whole as opposed to the dating (or stalking) on Myspace, its groups interface a thing of beauty, it not only allows but encourages “customizations” as extensive as you’re capable. Yet the modifications in the CSS editor don’t end up like the over-aggressive profiles on Myspace.
I especially like it because it takes music, design, and entertainment as a whole and meshes them all together.

It’s a smarter Facebook. It has a built-in Flickr feed, advanced music player (because of PureVolume) and a beautiful chatting interface. Not to mention a built-in blog. I knew you’d like that.

So, without further ado, go sign up! Add me, I’m the lonely guy at virb.com/derekdavis.
